I think I got in as part of theDec 08 2008Undecided
I think I got in as part of the Christian conservative diversity quota. I wrote my essay about being different, and I was accepted. I also had a 4.0 and good SAT's, but my extracurriculars were unimpressive.
SAT: 1510 Female
Do very well in your classesDec 08 2008Neuroscience/Cognitive Science
Do very well in your classes... Very, Very Well. Show that you want to be a part of the Brown community and that you do stand for something (anything) passionately. Brown is looking for students to enrich its atmosphere. In complete truth, this University's most valuable assets are the students who call this place home and contribute to the intelligent air of the University.

If you really want to go to Brown, makeSep 28 2008Other
If you really want to go to Brown, make sure your essays are top notch. Brown cares about those more than anything else (just look at the application - there's easily 2-3 times the amount of writing of any other college). Just write about something interesting and different (one of my essays was about the time my friends and I went to white castle) and the rest is really a crap shoot.
SAT: 2230 Male
Good grades, Extra-curricular activities, and Outstanding essay-writing skillsAug 29 2008Economics
Good grades, Extra-curricular activities, and Outstanding essay-writing skills... think about the ideal Brunonian and what makes you fit with Brown's philosophy (but don't lie... get in because it helps you grow as a person, not just because it's a cool smart school)
SAT: 1300 Male
Good grades and high test scores are a must,May 26 2008Economics
Good grades and high test scores are a must, but they're not enough. Your essays have to show that you're an actual person, and not just a test-taking machine.
SAT: 1580 Male
